Built for demanding environments, this 25A breaker handles continuous loads with a fixed thermal-magnetic trip mechanism. The single-pole device is HID rated, making it ideal for high-intensity discharge lighting circuits. It fastens securely into Siemens P1, P2, and P3 panelboards. Facilities planning upgrades should note this model transitions to the 3VA51 series, which utilizes an adapter kit. Delivering 25kAIC at 277VAC, the unit provides excellent short-circuit protection.
Which Siemens panelboards accept the NGB1B025B circuit breaker?
This breaker is designed for installation in Siemens P1, P2, and P3 panelboards. It features an interlocking design that allows for a single-screw installation to mount the line-end bus tab directly to the panelboard bus bar.
Is the NGB1B025B rated for lighting and HVAC applications?
Yes, this breaker is both HID rated for switching high-intensity discharge lighting circuits and HACR rated for use with heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment.
Can the NGB1B025B be used in direct current (DC) systems?
Yes, in addition to its standard AC voltage ratings, this breaker is approved for 125VDC applications with a 14kAIC interrupting rating.
What does the B suffix mean in the NGB1B025B catalog number?
The B at the end of the part number indicates that the breaker is factory-supplied with load-side lugs. If ordered without the B suffix, the breaker comes without lugs.
Is the NGB1B025B suitable for reverse-feed installations?
Yes. Because it utilizes a fixed, non-interchangeable thermal-magnetic trip unit, this breaker is suitable for reverse-feed applications in accordance with UL 489 standards.
What is the difference between Siemens NGB, HGB, and LGB breakers?
These prefixes designate the interrupting capacity of the GB frame. NGB indicates standard breaking capacity, while HGB and LGB indicate high and extra-high interrupting ratings, respectively.
Can I tie the handles of multiple NGB1B025B breakers together?
Yes, Siemens offers approved handle ties for NGB breakers. These are commonly used when adjacent single-pole breakers share a neutral and must be disconnected simultaneously.
