Designed for residential and commercial use, the Siemens Q225GF is a 25-amp, two-pole GFCI breaker rated for 120/240VAC. It provides 5mA ground-fault protection to meet NEC standards for wet and damp environments. This unit installs into Siemens load centers using a plug-on connection and a pigtail neutral. It serves as an exact replacement for older QF225 and QF225A breakers.

Product FAQs
6 answers
Which load centers are compatible with the Siemens Q225GF breaker?
The Q225GF is designed for use in Siemens EQ, ES, PL, Ultimate, and PN series load centers that accept QP or QPF type branch breakers.
Does the Q225GF replace older Siemens or Murray GFCI breakers?
Yes. The Q225GF is the direct replacement for the obsolete Siemens QF225 and QF225A models. It also replaces legacy Murray 25A 2-pole GFCI breakers, as Siemens QPF breakers supersede the discontinued Murray lines.
What is the ground fault trip sensitivity of the Q225GF?
This breaker provides Class A personnel protection with a 5mA ground fault trip threshold. It is designed to protect people from electrical shock in wet or damp locations like kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor circuits.
How do I wire the neutral on the Q225GF?
The breaker features a coiled white pigtail wire that must be connected directly to the panel neutral bus bar to power the internal GFCI electronics. The neutral wire from your branch circuit load connects to the designated load neutral terminal on the breaker itself.
Can I use the Q225GF for a straight 240V load that does not have a neutral wire?
Yes. For dedicated 240V circuits without a load neutral, you simply leave the load neutral terminal on the breaker empty. However, you must still connect the breaker's white pigtail wire to the panel neutral bus bar so the GFCI testing and sensing circuitry can function.
Can the Q225GF protect a 120/240V multi-wire branch circuit?
Yes. As a 2-pole GFCI, it can protect 3-wire 120/240V multi-wire branch circuits that share a single neutral. The breaker monitors the current balance across both hot legs and the neutral to accurately detect ground faults.
