Designed for versatile power distribution, the Siemens QR23B125 provides reliable thermal-magnetic protection. This 3-pole, 125A breaker operates at 240VAC with a standard 10kA interrupting capacity. Equipped with a bolt-on mounting style, it integrates perfectly into Siemens P1, P2, and P3 panelboards, as well as compatible meter centers. It also functions as an exact substitute for the legacy QJ23B125. This HACR-rated breaker features reverse feed capability and a push-to-trip button.
Does the QR23B125 replace older Siemens QJ breakers?
Yes. The QR23B125 serves as a direct drop-in replacement for the discontinued QJ23B125. The QR frame maintains the identical form factor and mounting footprint as the legacy QJ series while adding a push-to-trip testing button and supporting field-installable internal accessories.
What are the lug torque specifications for wiring the QR23B125?
When utilizing the standard 3TA1QR300 lugs, torque 2/0 AWG through 300 kcmil conductors to 225 in-lbs. For smaller 3 AWG through 1/0 AWG conductors, apply 100 in-lbs of torque.
Which panelboards accept this QR frame breaker?
This bolt-on molded case circuit breaker integrates directly into Siemens P1, P2, and P3 panelboards, as well as compatible Siemens switchboards, load centers, and modular meter centers.
Can I install auxiliary switches or shunt trips on this breaker in the field?
Yes. The QR series features accessory pockets that allow licensed electricians to field-install internal accessories like shunt trips and auxiliary switches. This eliminates the need to order pre-assembled units from the factory.
Is the QR23B125 suitable for reverse feed applications?
Yes. The breaker is built with a non-interchangeable thermal-magnetic trip unit and is rated for reverse feed applications, making it suitable for back-fed main configurations.
Does this breaker carry an HACR rating?
Yes. The QR23B125 is HACR rated, meaning it is certified for use with heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment that requires specific motor group protection.
How do you verify the mechanical trip linkage during routine maintenance?
The QR23B125 includes a manual push-to-trip button on the front face. Pressing this button safely tests the internal mechanical tripping mechanism without requiring a primary injection test or an actual overcurrent event.
