Built around the Sensitrip III electronic trip unit, this 1000A Siemens MCCB offers highly configurable overcurrent protection for commercial facilities. The 3-pole breaker provides adjustable Long-Time, Short-Time, and Instantaneous (LSI) pickup settings. This bolt-on breaker mounts into Siemens Sentron P4 and P5 panelboards, plus SB-series switchboards. It is replaced by the SND6B100LSI for newer installations. The SND69100ANT delivers a 65kAIC rating at 240V and includes terminal lugs.
Can the SND69100ANT be used to replace older thermal-magnetic ND6 breakers?
Yes, the SND69100ANT shares the same physical ND frame footprint as thermal-magnetic ND6 breakers. This allows panel builders to upgrade older installations to solid-state electronic trip protection without modifying the mounting space.
Is the SND69100ANT suitable for reverse feed applications?
Yes, this Sentron series breaker is acceptable for reverse connection applications. This allows power to be fed from either the line or load side terminals depending on your panelboard or switchboard configuration.
How are the LSI trip functions adjusted on this breaker?
The Sensitrip electronic trip unit features rotary switches on the face of the breaker. These dials must be set to mechanical click-stop detent positions to configure the Long-Time continuous current, Short-Time pickup and delay, and Instantaneous pickup settings.
What happens if the rotary dials on the Sensitrip unit are set between detent positions?
If the dials are not properly seated in a mechanical click-stop position, the electronic trip unit will default to its lowest permissive setting as a fail-safe. This prevents the breaker from operating unprotected but will likely result in nuisance tripping.
How many conductors per phase do the terminal lugs accept?
The included terminal lugs accommodate four copper or aluminum conductors per phase. Each lug accepts wire sizes ranging from 250 kcmil to 500 kcmil.
Can the electronic trip unit on the SND69100ANT be field tested?
Yes, the Sensitrip III solid-state trip unit can be tested for proper electronic functionality and calibration using a Siemens TS-31 test set.
What is the difference between the SND69100ANT and the SND6B100LSI?
The SND6B100LSI is the newer direct replacement for the SND69100ANT. Both are 1000A, 3-pole breakers with LSI electronic trip units, but the SND6B100LSI is the updated catalog number used for newer Siemens installations.
