This E-frame breaker is designed exclusively for bolt-on installation in Square D NF series panelboards. It is not compatible with NQ, NQOD, or QO load centers, which require different breaker profiles.
What does the "G" in the EGB prefix signify?
In Square D E-frame circuit breakers, the middle letter designates the maximum interrupting capacity at 480Y/277VAC. The "G" in EGB indicates a 35 kAIC rating. By comparison, an EDB is rated for 18 kAIC, and an EJB is rated for 65 kAIC.
Can the EGB34030 replace an EDB34030 or EJB34030?
Yes. Because all Square D 125A frame E-series breakers share the same physical dimensions and mounting footprint, the EGB34030 can directly replace an EDB34030. It can also substitute for an EJB34030, provided your system's available fault current does not exceed the 35 kAIC rating of the EGB at 480Y/277VAC.
What is the recommended tightening torque for the EGB34030 wire terminals?
The factory installed aluminum lugs on this 30A breaker should be torqued to 30.09 lb-in (3.4 N.m). This specification applies whether you are terminating copper or aluminum conductors.
Is this breaker suitable for heating, cooling, or lighting loads?
Yes. The EGB34030 is HACR rated for use with heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment. It is also HID rated, meaning it is fully certified for high intensity discharge lighting circuits.
What are the magnetic holding and trip currents for this breaker?
The instantaneous magnetic trip function on the EGB34030 is factory calibrated with a hold current of 270A and a guaranteed trip current of 875A.

Expedited Shipments
