The FDA34090 is a legacy F-frame circuit breaker and is no longer in active production. It has been officially replaced by the Square D PowerPact H-frame series, specifically the HDA36090, which maintains the same I-Line mounting style and 90-amp rating.
Can I install the FDA34090 in a standard Square D QO or NQ panelboard?
No. This breaker features a specialized plug-on jaw connection on the line side. It is exclusively compatible with Square D I-Line panelboards and switchboards, and cannot be installed in QO, NQ, or NF series panels.
How is the FDA34090 secured inside the panelboard?
The breaker utilizes a plug-on phase connection that grips the I-Line busbars directly. It is then mechanically fastened to the panelboard backpan using a retaining bracket and mounting screws to ensure a rigid and safe installation.
Is the FDA34090 suitable for reverse feeding applications?
No. Because it is an I-Line style breaker with factory-installed plug-on jaws on the line side, it is strictly designed for forward feeding from the panelboard bus. Reverse feeding is not permitted.
What is the recommended lug torque for the load-side terminals?
Torque specifications are printed directly on the breaker faceplate or side label. Always use a calibrated torque wrench during installation, as improper torque can lead to thermal failure or damage to the lug threads.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping
