Product FAQs
6 answers
What does the "AC" suffix mean on the FH26080AC catalog number?
The "AC" suffix indicates the internal bus connection configuration. It means this 2-pole breaker is factory-equipped to connect specifically to the A and C phases of a 3-phase I-Line panelboard bus.
What panelboards are compatible with the FH26080AC?
This breaker is exclusively designed for Square D I-Line panelboards and switchboards. It features a proprietary plug-on jaw design and cannot be used in standard load centers or unit-mount applications.
Is the Square D FH26080AC still manufactured, or is there a modern replacement?
The FH series is a legacy F-frame breaker. The modern replacement for Square D F-frame I-Line breakers is the PowerPact H-frame series. However, legacy FH breakers are still widely sourced to maintain existing switchboards and panels without requiring upgrades.
How are wires terminated on the FH26080AC?
Because this is an I-Line breaker, the line side connects directly to the panel bus via plug-on jaws. The load side features mechanical lugs that accept 14 to 1/0 AWG copper wire or 12 to 1/0 AWG aluminum wire.
Can the FH26080AC be used in direct current applications?
Yes. While primarily used in AC systems up to 600VAC, this breaker is also rated for 250VDC applications, providing a 10kA interrupting capacity for DC circuits.
How does the thermal-magnetic trip unit function on this breaker?
The FH26080AC features fixed Long-Time and Instantaneous (LI) protection. The thermal component provides a delayed trip to protect against sustained overloads, while the magnetic component trips instantaneously to clear short-circuit faults.
