This unit mount breaker is designed for use in older Square D L-Frame enclosures, switchboards, and panelboards. It is a feed-thru breaker and is not compatible with I-Line bus systems.
Is the Square D LHL36225 still manufactured, or is there a direct replacement?
The LHL36225 is a legacy molded case circuit breaker. Schneider Electric replaces this L-Frame model with the PowerPact J-Frame series, specifically the JGL36225. Upgrading to the newer PowerPact frame will require a retrofit kit to adapt the mounting and bus connections.
What wire sizes are accepted by the lugs on this 225A breaker?
The standard lugs accept either one 1 AWG to 600 kcmil aluminum or copper conductor, or two 1 AWG to 250 kcmil aluminum or copper conductors per phase.
What does the LI trip function code mean on the LHL36225?
The LI designation indicates a thermal magnetic trip unit with Long-Time and Instantaneous protection. The Long-Time thermal element is fixed, while the Instantaneous magnetic trip is adjustable, allowing electricians to fine-tune the short-circuit response threshold.

Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping

Expedited Shipments
