This legacy L-Frame breaker features unit mounting with lug terminals for (2) 2/0 AWG to 500 kcmil wire. It is replaced by the LRL36400U31X set to 300A. The LIL36300 is classified as a legacy L-Frame MCCB. Square D replaces this unit-mount breaker with the newer PowerPact L-Frame series, specifically catalog number LRL36400U31X, which features an electronic trip unit that can be adjusted down to a 300A rating.
What are the wire size limits for the LIL36300 terminals?
The factory-installed lugs accept dual conductors per phase, allowing you to run two parallel cables ranging from 2/0 AWG up to 500 kcmil in either aluminum or copper.
Is the LIL36300 considered a current-limiting breaker?
Yes. With a massive 200kAIC interrupting rating at 480V, this breaker features high-speed contact separation. This limits both peak fault current and I2t let-through energy during a severe short circuit to protect downstream equipment.
Will the LIL36300 mount into a Square D I-Line panel?
No. This is a unit-mount, feed-thru circuit breaker intended for lug-to-lug installation in individual enclosures, motor control centers, or switchboard base pan assemblies. It does not have the plug-on jaw connections required for I-Line busbars.
Does the LIL36300 allow for trip curve adjustments?
The magnetic instantaneous trip is fully adjustable, letting you dial in the short-circuit pickup to avoid nuisance tripping from high inrush currents. However, the thermal overload element is fixed at 300 amps.

Free Shipping Policy
