No. The PGA36100 features an I-Line plug-in mounting bracket designed exclusively for Square D I-Line panelboards and switchboards. It will not fit in standard QO, NQ, or NF enclosures.
What wire capacity do the lugs on the PGA36100 handle?
The factory load-side lugs accept four conductors per phase, supporting wire sizes from 3/0 AWG up to 500 kcmil. These mechanical lugs are rated for both aluminum and copper (Al/Cu) wire.
How are the trip settings adjusted on the PGA36100?
This breaker is equipped with a basic solid-state electronic trip unit providing Long-Time and Instantaneous (LI) protection. The long-time pickup (thermal equivalent) is fixed at the 1000A rating, while the instantaneous pickup (magnetic equivalent) is adjustable to coordinate short-circuit protection.
What does the "G" in the PGA36100 catalog number designate?
In the PowerPacT P-frame nomenclature, the "G" denotes the interrupting rating tier. A G-rated breaker provides a 35kAIC rating at 480VAC. Applications requiring higher interrupting capacities in the exact same footprint require a J-rated (PJA) or L-rated (PLA) breaker.
Is the electronic trip unit on the PGA36100 field-interchangeable?
No. The base PGA36100 comes with a basic electronic trip unit that cannot be swapped or upgraded in the field. If your application requires advanced metering or interchangeable MicroLogic trip units, a breaker with a specific trip-unit suffix code is required.
Is it safe to install the PGA36100 onto an energized I-Line bus?
No. Always de-energize the I-Line panelboard or switchboard before plug-in installation. Attempting to seat a 1000A frame onto a live bus presents an extreme arc flash and shock hazard. Strict adherence to NFPA 70E lockout/tagout procedures is required.
