This plug-in breaker is designed specifically for legacy Square D Q1 panelboards. It is not interchangeable with standard QO or Homeline load centers.
What does the -1021 suffix mean on this Q1 circuit breaker?
The -1021 suffix indicates the inclusion of a factory-installed 120/240V AC shunt trip. This accessory allows the breaker to be opened remotely by applying voltage to the shunt trip coil.
How is the shunt trip wired on the Q1335-1021?
The internal shunt trip module requires a dedicated 120/240V AC control circuit. When the control circuit is energized, it activates the coil to mechanically trip the breaker and disconnect the primary 35A load.
Can I replace an obsolete Q1 breaker with a modern QO series breaker?
Yes, Square D QO and QOB circuit breakers are the official replacements for the legacy Q1 series. Because Q1 breakers are physically wider, replacing them with QO breakers will leave gaps in the panel cover that must be filled with compatible filler plates.
