Product FAQs
6 answers
What is the difference between the QJL32250 and the QBL, QDL, or QGL models?
The prefix indicates the maximum interrupting rating at 240VAC. The QBL is rated for 10kAIC, QDL for 25kAIC, QGL for 65kAIC, and the QJL provides the highest rating at 100kAIC. All four models share the same physical dimensions and thermal-magnetic trip functions.
Can the QJL32250 circuit breaker be reverse fed?
Yes. Standard PowerPacT Q-frame thermal-magnetic circuit breakers do not have specific line and load markings, meaning they are suitable for reverse feeding in back-fed main breaker applications.
Are aluminum conductors permitted for the QJL32250?
No. While lower amperage Q-frame breakers accept both aluminum and copper, the 250A QJL32250 is restricted to copper (Cu) conductors only. The acceptable wire range is 4 AWG to 300 kcmil.
Will the QJL32250 fit into an I-Line panelboard?
No. The QJL32250 is a unit-mount (feed-thru) circuit breaker designed for individual enclosures, switchboards, and specific panelboards. PowerPacT Q-frame breakers in the 250A rating are not available in I-Line plug-on configurations.
Is the QJL32250 rated for use in DC voltage systems?
No. PowerPacT Q-frame circuit breakers are engineered and rated exclusively for AC distribution systems up to 240VAC. They do not carry a DC voltage rating.
Does the QJL32250 include equipment ground fault protection?
No. This breaker utilizes standard fixed thermal and fixed magnetic trip elements (LI) for overload and short-circuit protection. It does not provide ground fault or arc fault protection.
