5 answersWhat is the difference between the QO240EPD and a standard QO240GFI breaker?
The QO240EPD is an Equipment Protection Device (EPD) that trips at a 30mA ground-fault threshold to protect machinery like heat tracing or well pumps. A standard GFI breaker trips at a 5mA threshold and is designed for personnel protection.
How is the pigtail neutral wired on the QO240EPD for a straight 240V load?
Even if your 240V load does not require a neutral wire, the breaker's white pigtail must still be connected directly to the panel's neutral bar. This connection is required to power the breaker's internal ground-fault monitoring circuitry.
Can I install the QO240EPD in a Square D Homeline panel?
No. QO series breakers are not interchangeable with Homeline (HOM) panels. This breaker is designed exclusively for Square D QO load centers, NQ panelboards, and NQOD panelboards.
How do I test the ground-fault protection on the QO240EPD?
Once installed and powered, press the black test button on the front of the breaker. The breaker should trip immediately, indicating the equipment protection circuitry is functioning correctly.
Is the QO240EPD suitable for commercial panelboards?
Yes, it can be used in commercial NQ and NQOD panelboards, provided the available fault current does not exceed its 10kAIC interrupting rating at 120/240VAC.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.

Expedited Shipments
