This bolt-on breaker is designed exclusively for Square D NQ and NQOD panelboards. It is not compatible with standard QO load centers, which require plug-on breakers.
What does the 1021 suffix mean on this breaker?
The 1021 suffix indicates that this breaker includes a factory-installed 120/240V AC shunt trip accessory. This allows the breaker to be tripped remotely using a separate control circuit.
What does the VH stand for in the QOB120VH1021 catalog number?
The VH designates this as a high-interrupting breaker with a 22kAIC rating at 120/240VAC. Standard QOB breakers without the VH designation typically have a 10kAIC rating.
Can I field-install a shunt trip on a standard QOB120VH breaker instead of buying the QOB120VH1021?
No. For miniature QO and QOB circuit breakers, shunt trips must be factory-installed. You cannot add a shunt trip accessory to a standard breaker in the field.
Does the shunt trip accessory increase the physical size of the breaker?
Yes. The factory-installed shunt trip adds an additional pole space to the breaker. While the QOB120VH1021 is a 1-pole breaker, it will require two pole spaces in your NQ or NQOD panelboard.
How is the shunt trip wired on the QOB120VH1021?
The shunt trip features its own terminals that accept two 14 to 12 AWG copper wires. The hot and neutral wires from your 120V or 240V AC control circuit can be connected to either terminal to enable remote tripping.
Does this breaker include a visual trip indicator?
Yes, like all QO and QOB breakers, the QOB120VH1021 features a Visi-Trip indicator. When the breaker trips, a red indicator appears in a window on the face of the breaker, making it easy to identify the tripped circuit.

Free Shipping Policy

Expedited Shipments
