The WL suffix designates that the breaker is supplied with factory-installed copper and aluminum line and load lugs. Without this suffix, the breaker would require sourcing mechanical lugs separately.
What wire sizes are supported by the factory lugs on this 400A breaker?
The included terminals will accept either a single 6 AWG to 600 kcmil conductor, or two 2/0 AWG to 250 kcmil conductors per phase. Both copper and aluminum wires are supported.
Can the trip unit on the TJJ436400WL be removed and replaced with a different amperage?
No. The TJJ series utilizes a fixed thermal, non-interchangeable trip unit. While the instantaneous magnetic trip setting is adjustable, the 400A thermal overload element cannot be modified or swapped in the field.
Can the TJJ436400WL be utilized in DC electrical systems?
Yes. In addition to alternating current applications, this breaker is certified for direct current systems up to 500VDC. It provides a 20kAIC interrupting capacity at both 250VDC and 500VDC.

Expedited Shipments
