Are Eaton, Cutler-Hammer, and Westinghouse EB2040 breakers identical?
Yes. Eaton acquired the Westinghouse distribution equipment business, so the EB2040 is the exact same physical and electrical component regardless of which of these three brand names is printed on the label.
Can I replace an obsolete EB2040 with an EHD2040?
Yes. The Eaton EHD series is the direct modern replacement for legacy EB and EH frame breakers. An EHD2040 shares the same physical dimensions and bolt-on mounting configuration as the EB2040.
Can the EB2040 be used in direct current (DC) systems?
Yes, this thermal-magnetic breaker is rated for DC applications up to 125/250VDC, providing a 5kA interrupting capacity for those circuits.
Are the trip units on the EB2040 adjustable?
No. The EB2040 features fixed thermal and fixed magnetic trip functions, meaning the long-time and instantaneous trip settings cannot be modified in the field.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping
