Description
A drop-in replacement for aging infrastructure, the Eaton LA3600 is a 3-pole, 600A legacy L-Frame molded case circuit breaker. It offers reliable thermal-magnetic protection through an interchangeable trip unit. This bolt-on component fits older Eaton, Cutler-Hammer, and Westinghouse switchboards and motor control centers. This legacy L-Frame breaker is designed for bolt-on installation in older Eaton, Cutler-Hammer, and Westinghouse panelboards, switchboards, and motor control centers.
Are the Westinghouse and Cutler-Hammer versions of the LA3600 interchangeable?
Yes. Following Eaton's acquisition of the Westinghouse distribution equipment division, breakers branded as Eaton, Cutler-Hammer, or Westinghouse sharing the LA3600 catalog number are the exact same L-Frame component and physically interchangeable.
What is the modern replacement for the obsolete LA3600 breaker?
The Eaton Series C LD3600 serves as the modern direct substitute. It offers a seamless drop-in replacement for aging systems that originally specified the legacy LA3600.
How does the adjustable magnetic trip function operate on this unit?
While the thermal element provides fixed long-time overload protection, the adjustable magnetic dial allows you to tune the instantaneous short-circuit trip threshold. This adjustability ensures proper selective coordination with downstream loads and breakers.
Is the LA3600 rated for DC voltage systems?

Is this breaker suitable for standard load center mounting?
No. The LA3600 is a large L-Frame bolt-on breaker. It requires the heavy-duty busbar mounting connections found in industrial switchboards, panelboards, or motor control centers, rather than standard residential plug-on or DIN rail load centers.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping
