This breaker provides Class A ground fault protection, which is designed to trip when it detects a ground fault current of 5mA to protect personnel from electrical shock.
What is the difference between the Siemens QF230 and the QF230A?
The QF230A is the direct replacement for the legacy QF230. The A suffix indicates the addition of automatic self-testing and lockout features to comply with updated UL 943 standards for GFCI protection.
Can the QF230A protect a straight 240V load that does not use a neutral wire?
Yes. For a 240V load without a neutral, connect the two hot wires to the breaker and leave the load neutral lug empty. The breaker's white pigtail wire must still be connected to the panel neutral bus to power the internal GFCI circuitry.
How is the pigtail neutral connected on this GFCI breaker?
The coiled white pigtail wire must be routed and connected directly to the neutral bus bar in your Siemens load center. This provides the 120V reference required for the breaker's internal testing and ground fault sensing electronics.
Which load centers are approved for the QF230A?
This breaker is compatible with Siemens EQ, ES, PL, and Ultimate series load centers. Verify that your specific panel label lists type QP or QPF breakers for approved use.
Does this breaker include an automatic self-test feature?
Yes. The QF230A includes a continuous self-testing function that automatically verifies the ground fault circuitry is working properly. If a failure is detected, the breaker will trip and lock out to prevent it from being reset.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping
