This unit is a UL-classified direct replacement for the Square D QO240. It provides the same 40-amp, 2-pole protection and requires two 3/4-inch spaces in a QO panel.
Is the Eaton CHQ240 compatible with standard Cutler-Hammer CH panels?
No. Despite the CHQ prefix, this breaker is specifically engineered and UL-classified as a replacement for Square D QO load centers. It will not fit standard Eaton or Cutler-Hammer CH series panels.
What is the wire capacity for the box lugs on the CHQ240?
The terminals can accommodate a single 14-8 AWG copper or aluminum wire, or two 14-10 AWG copper or aluminum wires.
Does the CHQ240 provide independent or common trip protection?
This 2-pole breaker features an internal common trip mechanism. If an overload or short circuit occurs on either leg of the 120/240VAC circuit, both poles will trip simultaneously to safely disconnect power.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping

Expedited Shipments
