Product FAQs
6 answers
What panelboards are compatible with the EDB24060SA circuit breaker?
This E-frame bolt-on breaker is designed exclusively for use in Square D NF series panelboards. It is not compatible with I-Line or QO panelboards.
What does the SA suffix mean on the EDB24060SA?
The SA suffix indicates that this breaker includes a factory-installed 120V AC shunt trip. This allows the breaker to be tripped remotely for emergency disconnects, fire alarm integration, or control system automation.
Can I install a shunt trip in the field on a standard EDB24060?
No, the shunt trip on Square D E-frame breakers is factory-installed only and cannot be added in the field. You must order the breaker with the SA suffix if a 120V shunt trip is required.
Does the factory-installed shunt trip require additional panel space?
Yes, the factory-installed shunt trip requires one additional pole space in your NF panelboard. Because the EDB24060SA is a 2-pole breaker, it will occupy a total of three pole spaces.
Is the EDB24060SA suitable for use on 480V Delta systems?
No, this breaker is slash-rated for 480Y/277V AC, meaning it is only suitable for solid-grounded Wye systems where the line-to-ground voltage does not exceed 277V. It is not rated for ungrounded or corner-grounded 480V Delta systems.
What is the difference between the EDB, EGB, and EJB series breakers?
The difference lies in their interrupting ratings at 480Y/277V. The EDB series is rated at 18kA, the EGB series at 35kA, and the EJB series at 65kA. They share the same physical dimensions and mount in the same NF panelboards.

Breaker ordered and delivered.
Called in as a last attempt because my regular supplier didn't have any of these in stock. I got a very friendly salesperson, and they sold me a new breaker for less than half of what my standard supplier would have. Definitely going here again.
