Product FAQs

6 answers
Which panelboards are compatible with the NEF425090 circuit breaker?

This breaker is designed for installation in legacy Federal Pacific NEF series panelboards and compatible CDP distribution panels that accept N-frame bolt-on breakers.

What is the acceptable wire gauge range for the NEF425090 lugs?

The load side lugs are designed to accept conductors ranging from 4 AWG up to 1/0 AWG. Ensure proper torque specifications are followed during installation.

Can the NEF425090 be used in DC voltage applications?

Yes, this thermal magnetic breaker is rated for DC applications up to 250VDC, providing an interrupting capacity of 10 kAIC at that voltage.

How does the NEF425090 mount into the panelboard?

This is a bolt-on circuit breaker that secures directly to the panel bus. Depending on your specific Federal Pacific distribution panel, a separate N-frame mounting hardware kit may be required for installation.

Is the NEF425090 part of the residential Stab-Lok series?

No, the NEF425090 is a commercial-grade, molded case N-frame circuit breaker with a bolt-on connection. It is not part of the residential Federal Pacific Stab-Lok plug-on series.

How does the interrupting rating change depending on the system voltage?

The NEF425090 provides 14 kAIC of protection on 480VAC systems. If installed on a 240VAC system, the interrupting capacity increases to 18 kAIC.

    Great service & pricing

Superbreakers did a great job for us. We called and asked if the breakers were actually in their possession. Withing 30 minutes they called us back (which is rare these days), and we got our breakers the next morning.
