Product FAQs

8 answers
Can the BDL26090 be installed in a Square D I-Line panelboard?

No. The BDL26090 is a unit-mount breaker designed for base mounting or DIN rail mounting in industrial control panels and switchboards. It does not have the plug-on jaw connections required for I-Line panelboards. For I-Line applications, you will need a B-Frame breaker with an A in the third position of the catalog number, such as a BDA.

What type of wire terminals are included on the BDL26090?

This breaker comes factory-equipped with EverLink lugs on both the line and load sides. These patented lugs are designed to maintain constant pressure on the wire, reducing the risk of loosening over time due to thermal cycling. They accept 14 AWG to 3/0 AWG aluminum or copper wire.

Can the BDL26090 be reverse fed?

Yes. PowerPacT B-Frame circuit breakers can be supplied from either the top or the bottom without any reduction in performance. This reverse-feed capability provides flexibility when routing cables inside a control panel.

Does the BDL26090 support DIN rail mounting?

Yes. The unit-mount design of the BDL26090 features built-in DIN rail mounting capabilities for standard 35mm symmetrical DIN rail, as well as traditional back-pan mounting with screws. This offers flexibility for industrial control panel installations.

What trip unit is installed in the BDL26090?

The BDL26090 is equipped with a factory-sealed, fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit. It provides Long-Time (L) overload protection and Instantaneous (I) short-circuit protection. The thermal and magnetic trip thresholds are fixed and cannot be adjusted in the field.

Does the BDL26090 include a push-to-trip feature?

Yes. Like all PowerPacT breakers, the BDL26090 features an integral push-to-trip button on the front cover. This allows you to manually trip the breaker to verify the mechanical operation of the trip mechanism and any installed auxiliary accessories.

What does the D in the BDL26090 catalog number represent?

In the PowerPacT B-Frame nomenclature, the D indicates the interrupting rating tier. The D tier provides 25kA at 240VAC, 18kA at 480VAC, and 14kA at 600Y/347VAC. Higher interrupting tiers in this family include the G and J models.

Is the BDL26090 rated for DC voltage applications?

Yes. The BDL26090 is dual-rated for both AC and DC applications. It has a maximum DC voltage rating of 250VDC with an interrupting capacity of 10kA.
