No. The BRP120AF is a Plug-on Neutral (PON) breaker that lacks a pigtail wire. It must be installed in an Eaton BR Plug-on Neutral loadcenter. If your panel requires a pigtail connection to the neutral bar, you will need a pigtail-style breaker instead.
What is the pigtail equivalent to the Eaton BRP120AF circuit breaker?
If your loadcenter does not support plug-on neutral breakers, the Eaton BRN120AF (or legacy BR120AF) is the correct 20-amp, single-pole combination AFCI breaker equipped with a pigtail neutral wire.
Does the BRP120AF require a pigtail wire connection to the panel's neutral bar?
No. As a Plug-on Neutral breaker, it connects directly to the panel's neutral bus bar via a built-in clip on the breaker. This eliminates the need to route and connect a separate coiled pigtail wire.
Does the BRP120AF provide both arc-fault (AFCI) and ground-fault (GFCI) protection?
No. The BRP120AF is a combination AFCI breaker designed strictly to mitigate arc faults. It does not provide GFCI protection. If your circuit requires dual-function protection (both AFCI and GFCI), you need a dual-function breaker like the Eaton BRP120DF.
Are the BRP120AF and BRN120AF rated for the same type of branch circuit protection?
Yes, both breakers provide 20-amp, single-pole combination arc-fault (AFCI) protection with a 10 kAIC rating. The only difference is the method of neutral connection to the panel (Plug-on Neutral vs. pigtail wire).
Can I use the BRP120AF in an Eaton CH series loadcenter?
No. The BRP120AF is a Type BR breaker and will only physically mount to the bus bar in an Eaton Type BR Plug-on Neutral loadcenter. Eaton CH series loadcenters require Type CH breakers, which utilize a narrower mounting footprint.
How do I read the diagnostic trip codes if the BRP120AF breaker trips?
When the breaker is turned back on after a trip, an integral red LED will flash a repeating pattern from 1 to 6 blinks to indicate the cause of the trip (such as a series arc, parallel arc, short delay, overvoltage, or self-test failure). The pattern will repeat 30 times to aid in troubleshooting before returning to normal operation.

Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.

Expedited Shipments
