Product FAQs
8 answers
What panelboards are compatible with the HFB3035 circuit breaker?
This F-Frame breaker is designed for use in Eaton Pow-R-Line C panelboards, legacy Westinghouse F-Frame panelboards, switchboards, and motor control centers.
Can the Eaton HFB3035 replace an older Westinghouse HFB3035?
Yes. Eaton acquired the Westinghouse distribution equipment line, which was branded as Cutler-Hammer. The modern Eaton HFB3035 is a direct, drop-in replacement for legacy Westinghouse breakers with the exact same catalog number.
What wire size and material can be used with the lugs on the HFB3035?
The standard lugs accept wire gauges from 14 AWG up to 1/0 AWG and are rated for both copper (Cu) and aluminum (Al) conductors.
How does this breaker mount into the panelboard?
The HFB3035 features a bolt-on connection type, securing directly to the panelboard bus with mounting hardware rather than snapping into place.
What does the Mark 75 designation mean on this breaker?
Mark 75 is a legacy Westinghouse and Cutler-Hammer family name indicating a high interrupting capacity series. For the HFB3035, this includes a 65kAIC rating at 240VAC and 25kAIC at 480VAC.
Is the HFB3035 suitable for direct current (DC) applications?
Yes, this breaker is rated for up to 250VDC with a 10kA DC interrupting capacity, making it suitable for specific industrial DC control circuits.
Are the trip settings on the HFB3035 adjustable?
No, this breaker features a non-interchangeable thermal-magnetic trip unit with fixed thermal (overload) and fixed magnetic (instantaneous short-circuit) settings.
What is the difference between the FB, HFB, and FDC frame types?
These are all Eaton and Westinghouse F-Frame breakers but differ in interrupting capacity. The FB is the standard tier, the HFB (Mark 75) offers high interrupting capacity, and the FDC provides the highest, current-limiting interrupting ratings.
