This unit mounts in Eaton Series C panelboards, switchboards, and motor control centers. It is also backward compatible with legacy Westinghouse panelboards designed for J-Frame breakers.
How does the JDC frame differ from standard JD or HJD frames?
The JDC designation indicates an ultra-high interrupting capacity. While standard JD frames offer lower fault ratings, the JDC3100 provides up to 200kAIC at 240VAC and 100kAIC at 480VAC for systems with high available fault currents.
How are the trip settings adjusted on the JDC3100?
This breaker features a fixed thermal element for overload protection and an adjustable magnetic element for short-circuit protection. The instantaneous magnetic trip can be adjusted using the dial located on the front face of the breaker.
Can the Eaton JDC3100 replace an older Westinghouse JDC3100?
Yes. Eaton acquired the Westinghouse distribution equipment line. The modern Eaton Series C JDC3100 is a direct physical and electrical replacement for the legacy Westinghouse model with the exact same catalog number.
Does the JDC3100 include ground fault protection?
No. This breaker is equipped with an LI (Long-Time and Instantaneous) thermal-magnetic trip unit. It does not provide equipment ground fault protection or personnel ground fault circuit interruption.
Are internal accessories like shunt trips field-installable in this breaker?
Yes, Eaton Series C J-Frame breakers support field-installable internal accessories. Auxiliary switches, bell alarms, and shunt trips can be mounted inside the accessory pockets located under the front cover.
What wire sizes are accepted by the standard lugs on this breaker?
The standard factory lugs accept aluminum or copper wire ranging from 4 AWG to 350 kcmil. Ensure proper torque specifications are followed during installation as labeled on the side of the breaker.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping
