This breaker features a feed-thru, cable-in/cable-out design. It does not plug onto a busbar. It can be screw-mounted directly to a backpan or installed on a standard 35mm DIN rail using the Eaton QCDINADAPT adapter bracket.
Can the QCHW1020 be installed in standard Eaton BR or CH residential load centers?
No. The QCHW series is a unit mount breaker designed for control panels and standalone enclosures. It lacks the plug-on or bolt-on clips required for standard residential load centers or commercial panelboards.
What is the difference between Eaton QCHW, QBHW, and QPHW circuit breakers?
The difference is the mounting style. The QCHW is a cable-in/cable-out unit mount breaker. The QBHW is a bolt-on breaker for commercial panelboards, and the QPHW is a plug-in breaker. All three utilize the same Quicklag thermal-magnetic trip mechanism and share a 22kAIC rating at 120/240VAC.
Is the QCHW1020 suitable for direct current (DC) control circuits?
Yes, in addition to its AC ratings, this breaker is UL rated for DC applications up to 48VDC with a 5kAIC interrupting capacity. This makes it suitable for low-voltage battery systems and DC control panels.
What type of wire terminations does the QCHW1020 use?
The breaker is equipped with standard box lugs on both the line and load sides, accepting 14 AWG to 10 AWG aluminum or copper conductors. Because it is a feed-thru breaker, both line and load connections must be hardwired.
Does the QCHW1020 snap directly onto a DIN rail out of the box?
No, the breaker requires a separate mounting accessory, catalog number QCDINADAPT, to attach to a standard DIN rail. Without the adapter, it must be surface-mounted using screws.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping

Expedited Shipments
