Part of Eaton's legacy lineup, the FB3040PF is a 40A molded case circuit breaker designed for industrial applications. It provides a reliable solution for maintaining older electrical infrastructure. This bolt-on breaker installs into legacy Westinghouse CDP and Pow-R-Line panelboards. As an exact replacement, it eliminates the need for the mounting adapters required by newer FDB3040 substitutes. This F-frame breaker is designed for installation in legacy Westinghouse CDP panelboards, as well as Eaton and Cutler-Hammer Pow-R-Line series panels that are configured for F-frame molded case circuit breakers. Always check your panel interior label for a list of approved breaker types.
Are Westinghouse, Cutler-Hammer, and Eaton FB3040PF breakers interchangeable?
Yes. Because Eaton acquired the Westinghouse electrical distribution division, the FB3040PF was manufactured under the Westinghouse, Cutler-Hammer, and Eaton brand names over time. They share the exact same physical dimensions, mounting style, and electrical ratings, making them direct replacements for one another.
Does the FB3040PF come with line and load lugs?
This breaker is supplied with load side lugs that accept 14 to 2 AWG copper or aluminum wire. Because it is a bolt-on breaker designed for panelboard mounting, the line side connects directly to the panel bus using bolted hardware kits specific to your panelboard model.
Can the trip settings on the FB3040PF be adjusted in the field?
No. This breaker features a thermal-magnetic trip unit with fixed Long-Time (overload) and fixed Instantaneous (short-circuit) settings. If your application requires adjustable trip curves, you will need to select a breaker with an electronic trip unit instead.
Can the FB3040PF be used in DC applications?
Yes, in addition to its AC ratings, this breaker is rated for use in 250VDC systems with an interrupting capacity of 10kA. When applying molded case circuit breakers in DC circuits, ensure your wiring configuration meets the manufacturer guidelines for DC switching.

Free Shipping Policy

Expedited Shipments
