Description
Serving as a drop-in replacement, the Eaton FB3070PF is a 70A, 3-pole MCCB providing essential long-time and instantaneous protection. This F-Frame breaker mounts into older Westinghouse CDP and FDP panelboards. It restores functionality to existing enclosures without requiring the mounting kits needed for the newer FDB3070. Delivering a 14 kAIC rating at 480VAC, it utilizes AB De-Ion arc extinction to safely interrupt severe electrical faults.Specifications

This legacy F-Frame breaker is designed for installation in Westinghouse CDP panelboards, FDP panelboards, and compatible motor control centers.
Are Eaton, Cutler-Hammer, and Westinghouse FB3070PF breakers the same?
Yes. Eaton acquired the Westinghouse and Cutler-Hammer electrical distribution divisions. A breaker labeled under any of these three brands with catalog number FB3070PF will have identical physical dimensions and electrical characteristics.
What wire sizes are accepted by the load side lugs on this breaker?
The included load side lugs accept wire gauges ranging from 14 AWG to 1/0 AWG. They are rated for use with both copper (Cu) and aluminum (Al) conductors.
Why does this breaker only feature lugs on the load side?
The FB3070PF is designed with a bolt-on connection for the line side, meaning it bolts directly to the panelboard busbar. Lugs are only required on the load side to terminate the outgoing conductors.
How does the interrupting capacity change based on the AC voltage applied?
The breaker provides a maximum interrupting rating of 18kA at 240VAC. When applied at higher voltages, the rating decreases to 14kA for both 480VAC and 600VAC systems.
Can the FB3070PF be utilized in direct current (DC) systems?
Yes, this molded case circuit breaker is rated for DC applications up to 250VDC, providing a 10kA interrupting capacity at that voltage.
How does the fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit protect electrical circuits?
The thermal element provides long-time (L) protection against sustained overloads by heating up and tripping the breaker. The magnetic element provides instantaneous (I) protection, tripping immediately when it detects high-level short-circuit currents. Both settings are fixed and cannot be adjusted in the field.
