Product FAQs
6 answersWhich panelboards are compatible with the NB232070FED circuit breaker?
This breaker is designed specifically for Federal Pioneer NB panelboards. It utilizes a bolt-on connection and is not compatible with standard plug-on Stab-Lok load centers.
Are the NB370 and NB232070FED the same circuit breaker?
Yes. NB370 is the standard catalog designation for a 70-amp, 3-pole Federal Pioneer NB series breaker. NB232070FED is the extended manufacturer part number used by Schneider Electric for the exact same unit.
What type of wire can be used with the NB370 breaker terminals?
The factory-installed lugs accept both aluminum and copper conductors ranging from 14 AWG to 1/0 AWG. Always apply an approved oxide inhibitor when terminating aluminum wiring.
Does the NB232070FED offer GFCI or AFCI protection?
No. This is a standard thermal-magnetic breaker equipped with long-time and instantaneous trip functions for basic overload and short-circuit protection. It does not provide ground fault or arc fault protection.
Can I use an NB series breaker in place of an NC or NA series breaker?
No. The NB series features a bolt-on connection designed for commercial panelboards, whereas the NA and NC series utilize a plug-on design typical of residential Stab-Lok load centers. They are not interchangeable.
Can I adjust the trip settings on the NB370 breaker?
No. The NB232070FED features a fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit. The long-time and instantaneous trip functions are factory set and cannot be adjusted in the field.
