Product FAQs

6 answers
What electrical panels accept the UBIF20 circuit breaker?

This breaker is specifically designed for use in Federal Pacific Electric (FPE) Stab-Lok load centers that accept Type NA breakers. It is not compatible with standard modern panels from other manufacturers.

Which original Federal Pacific breaker does the UBIF20 replace?

It serves as a direct replacement for the obsolete FPE NA120 circuit breaker. It provides the exact physical fitment for 1-pole, 20-amp applications in Stab-Lok panels.

Are Connecticut Electric UBIF replacements safe to use in older FPE panels?

Yes. While original Federal Pacific breakers have a documented history of failing to trip, these newly manufactured Connecticut Electric replacements are ETL listed and tested to modern UL safety standards to ensure reliable thermal-magnetic tripping.

How does this breaker connect to the panel busbar?

It utilizes the proprietary Stab-Lok plug-on connection design required by FPE load centers. Ensure the panel bus is clean and free of pitting before seating the breaker to guarantee a secure electrical connection.

Is there a difference between the UBIF20 and UBIF20N catalog numbers?

Both catalog numbers refer to the exact same 1-pole 20-amp replacement breaker. The N suffix typically designates the newest manufacturing revision or retail packaging from Connecticut Electric, but the physical breaker and fitment remain identical.

Can I use this breaker in a Federal Pioneer panel?

Federal Pioneer is the Canadian equivalent of Federal Pacific. While the Stab-Lok design is physically similar, you must verify local code compliance and panel labeling, as cross-border listings for aftermarket replacements can vary.
