Providing 80 amps of thermal-magnetic protection, this two-pole component fits perfectly inside older Federal Pacific load centers. It handles larger residential or commercial loads while maintaining the classic one-inch-per-pole footprint. Installation into Stab-Lok panels is seamless, making it an ideal substitute for UBIF0280N models. The plug-on design eliminates the need for modification kits. This 10kAIC rated unit includes a color-coded handle and a reliable common trip mechanism.

Product FAQs
7 answers
What load centers accept the NA2P80 circuit breaker?
This breaker is designed specifically for Federal Pacific Electric (FPE) Stab-Lok load centers. It features the proprietary Stab-Lok plug-on connection and is not interchangeable with standard 1-inch breakers from other manufacturers.
What is the physical width of the NA2P80 compared to NC series breakers?
The NA series uses a standard 1-inch per pole footprint, making this 2-pole breaker 2 inches wide overall. In contrast, FPE NC series breakers use a half-inch per pole thin design. Verify your panel layout to ensure a full-size NA frame will fit.
Are there safety concerns with original Federal Pacific Stab-Lok equipment?
Yes. Historical testing by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and independent agencies has shown that original FPE Stab-Lok breakers have an unusually high failure-to-trip rate during overcurrent conditions. Many licensed electricians recommend replacing the entire load center to eliminate these fire and shock hazards.
Who manufactures modern replacements for the obsolete NA2P80?
Since Federal Pacific Electric is out of business, aftermarket replacement breakers for Stab-Lok panels are currently manufactured by Connecticut Electric under their UBI product line. These modern aftermarket options are UL 489 listed.
What wire gauge range is supported by the NA2P80 lugs?
The terminal lugs accommodate wire sizes from 4 AWG up to 2/0 AWG. Ensure proper torque specifications are followed during installation to prevent loose connections, which are a known issue in aging Stab-Lok panels.
What type of trip mechanism does the NA2P80 utilize?
It uses a standard thermal-magnetic trip unit with fixed long-time and instantaneous (LI) functions. It does not provide arc-fault (AFCI) or ground-fault (GFCI) protection.
Does the NA2P80 require a mounting kit for installation?
No. The NA2P80 features a plug-on design that stabs directly onto the busbar of an FPE Stab-Lok load center. No bolt-on modifications or external mounting hardware are required.
