Is there a direct replacement for the QSA2020TVSS?
Yes, the QSA2020TVSS is an older model that has been superseded by the Siemens QSA2020SPD. The updated SPD version provides the same two 20A circuits and integrated whole-panel surge suppression.
How many panel spaces does the QSA2020TVSS require?

How do I know if the surge protection on the QSA2020TVSS is still functioning?
The breaker features LED status indicators that remain lit while the transient voltage surge suppressor is active. If the surge protection capacity is depleted, the breaker will trip. After resetting, the breaker will continue to provide overcurrent protection, but the surge protection will be inactive.
Does the QSA2020TVSS only protect the two circuits it is connected to?
No. Once installed in the load center, the integrated transient voltage surge suppressor provides surge protection for the entire panel and all connected branch circuits, not just the two 20A circuits wired directly to it.
What type of circuits should be connected to the QSA2020TVSS?
Siemens recommends connecting this breaker to frequently used circuits. Because the breaker trips when surge protection is lost, wiring it to regularly used lights or devices provides an immediate, noticeable indication that the panel is no longer protected from surges.
