This 100A bolt-on breaker mounts directly to the busbars of Siemens P1, P2, and P3 commercial distribution panelboards, as well as older ITE panelboards. It will not fit in standard residential plug-on load centers.
Are there exact replacements for the BQ2B100 with higher AIC ratings?
Yes. For systems requiring higher short circuit protection, the BQH2B100 offers 22kAIC and the HBQ2B100 provides 65kAIC at 120/240VAC. They share the same physical dimensions and bolt-on connections as the standard 10kAIC version.
Does the BQ2B100 include GFCI or AFCI protection?
No. It is a standard thermal magnetic breaker designed solely for overload and short circuit protection. It does not have ground fault equipment protection (GFEP), personnel ground fault (GFCI), or arc fault (AFCI) sensing.
Is the BQ2B100 compatible with DIN rail mounting?
No, it is strictly a bolt-on breaker for panelboard busbars. If your application requires DIN rail mounting, you should look into the Siemens BQD or CQD series breakers which support independent mounting, though they require different panel connections.
What are the termination best practices for the BQ2B100 lugs?
