The Q38000S01 includes a factory-installed 120V shunt trip for remote power disconnection. The standard Q380 does not have this feature.
How much panel space does the Q38000S01 require?
While it is a 3-pole breaker, the factory-installed shunt trip requires an additional pole space. It takes up four standard 1-inch spaces in the panel, though the fourth space does not connect to the bus bar.
Which load centers are compatible with the Q38000S01 breaker?
This breaker is designed for use in Siemens 3-phase load centers and panelboards that accept Type QP plug-on breakers, such as the PL, ES, and G series panels.
Can I use this breaker in an Eaton or GE panel?
No. While some panels may physically accept Type QP breakers, the Q38000S01 is only UL listed for use in approved Siemens load centers and panelboards. Mixing brands can void the UL listing and compromise safety.
How is the 120V shunt trip wired on the Q38000S01?
The shunt trip features external pigtail leads that must be connected to a separate 120V control circuit. When 120V is applied to these leads, the breaker will automatically trip.
Is the Q38000S01 suitable for HVAC equipment?

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping
