The KAB36225 is a legacy K-frame breaker. For complete panel upgrades or modern replacements, it is superseded by the PowerPact J-frame series, specifically the JGA36225.
What replacement lug kit is compatible with the load side of this breaker?
The standard mechanical lug kit for this 225A K-frame breaker is the AL250KA. This kit includes three lugs that accept 4 AWG to 350 kcmil aluminum or copper conductors.
How does the I-Line mounting system secure this breaker to the panelboard?
The breaker jaws plug directly onto the I-Line busbar stack. It is then bolted to the panel mounting pan using a retaining bracket and screw to secure the connection and prevent movement.
Is electrical joint compound required when installing this I-Line breaker?
Yes. When installing or reinstalling an I-Line circuit breaker, Square D recommends applying PJC7201 joint compound to the breaker jaws to maintain optimal electrical connection performance on the busbar.
How does the LI trip unit operate on the KAB36225?

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
