What is the difference between the Square D FA26080 and FH26080 circuit breakers?
Both are 80A, 2-pole F-frame I-Line circuit breakers, but they have different interrupting ratings. The FH26080 is the high-interrupting version, rated at 65kA at 240VAC and 25kA at 480VAC. The standard FA26080 is rated lower, at 25kA at 240VAC and 18kA at 480VAC.
What is the modern replacement for the obsolete FH26080 I-Line circuit breaker?
The Square D PowerPact B-frame series is the designated modern replacement for legacy F-frame breakers. A B-frame I-Line breaker with matching specifications will fit the same mounting space in existing I-Line panelboards and switchboards to ease retrofits.
What type of panels will the FH26080 fit into?
This breaker is designed exclusively for Square D I-Line panelboards and switchboards. It features an I-Line style plug-on connection for the line side and cannot be used in standard load centers or NQ and NF panelboards.
What wire sizes and materials are accepted by the load side lugs on the FH26080?
The mechanical lugs accept 14 AWG to 1/0 AWG copper wire, or 12 AWG to 1/0 AWG aluminum wire.
Can the FH26080 be used in DC power systems?
Yes, this thermal magnetic breaker is rated for use in DC applications up to 250VDC, with a maximum interrupting rating of 10kA at that voltage.
How does the I-Line mounting system work on the FH26080?
The breaker features a plug-on line side connection that snaps directly onto the I-Line bus stack in the panelboard. The load side utilizes standard mechanical lugs for wire termination.
Are the trip settings adjustable on the FH26080?
No, this breaker features a fixed thermal and fixed magnetic trip unit. The long time and instantaneous functions are factory calibrated and cannot be adjusted in the field.
