6 answersWhat panelboards are compatible with the EGB34100 breaker?
This bolt-on breaker is designed exclusively for Square D NF series panelboards. It will not fit in NQ, I-Line, or QO load centers.
How does the EGB34100 differ from the EDB34100 or EJB34100?
These E-frame breakers share the exact same physical dimensions and fit the same NF panelboards. The difference is their short circuit interrupting rating at 480Y/277VAC. The EDB34100 is rated at 18 kA, the EGB34100 is rated at 35 kA, and the EJB34100 is rated at 65 kA.
Can the EGB34100 be installed on a 480V ungrounded Delta system?
No. Because this breaker carries a slash voltage rating of 480Y/277VAC, it is only listed for use on solidly grounded wye systems where the line-to-ground voltage does not exceed 277VAC. It violates code to install it on ungrounded, corner-grounded, or impedance-grounded 480V Delta configurations.
What wire sizes do the factory lugs on the EGB34100 accept?
The standard mechanical lugs are rated for both copper and aluminum conductors. They accept copper wire from 14 AWG to 2/0 AWG, and aluminum wire from 12 AWG to 2/0 AWG.
Are the trip functions on the EGB34100 adjustable?
No. The thermal magnetic trip unit features fixed thermal (long-time) and fixed magnetic (instantaneous) trip thresholds. These settings cannot be adjusted in the field.
How does this breaker connect to the panelboard bus?
The EGB34100 is a bolt-on branch breaker. It secures directly to the interior bus of an NF panelboard using its integrated mounting screws.

Expedited Shipments
