The PowerPacT H-frame HDL36100 is the recommended upgrade path for the discontinued 100A, 3-pole FAL36100. While the electrical ratings align, the H-frame physical footprint differs from the legacy F-frame. Depending on your enclosure or switchboard, you may need specific retrofit mounting hardware or lug kits to complete the installation.
Are internal accessories field-installable on the HDL36100?
Yes. The PowerPacT H-frame family is designed to accept modular, field-installable internal accessories. You can add auxiliary switches, shunt trips, undervoltage releases, and alarm contacts behind the front cover without replacing the base breaker.
What replacement lug kit is required for the HDL36100 breaker?
The HDL36100 uses standard AL150HD mechanical lug kits for both the line and load sides. These lugs support 14 AWG to 3/0 AWG aluminum or copper wire. Always torque the wire binding screws to the exact specifications printed on the breaker faceplate to ensure a secure connection.
Can the HDL36100 be safely reverse-fed?
Yes. Molded case circuit breakers in the PowerPacT H-frame series with standard thermal-magnetic trip units do not have line and load side directional restrictions. The HDL36100 can be safely reverse-fed for use as a back-fed main breaker in compatible panels.
Are the thermal-magnetic trip characteristics adjustable on this model?
No. The HDL36100 features a fixed thermal and fixed magnetic (LI) trip mechanism. Both the continuous current rating and instantaneous short-circuit pickup are factory sealed. If your application requires adjustable long-time or instantaneous pickup settings, you will need to select a PowerPacT breaker equipped with a Micrologic electronic trip unit.

Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.

Expedited Shipments
