What does the current limiting designation mean for the IF36040?
As an I-Limiter circuit breaker, the IF36040 is engineered to clear faults extremely fast. This rapid response reduces the let-through energy during a short circuit, allowing it to achieve a high interrupting rating of 200kAIC at 480V.
What wire sizes and materials are compatible with the IF36040 terminals?
The factory lugs on the IF36040 accept both copper and aluminum conductors. For copper wire, the acceptable range is 14 AWG to 1/0 AWG. For aluminum wire, the range is 12 AWG to 1/0 AWG.
What type of trip unit is installed in the IF36040?
This breaker features a fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit with Long-Time and Instantaneous (LI) trip functions. Both the thermal and magnetic trip points are fixed and cannot be adjusted in the field.
How does the I-Line plug-in connection work on the IF36040?
The I-Line mounting style uses a plug-on jaw mechanism that engages directly with the I-Line bus stack in the panelboard. This design allows for faster installation and eliminates the need for individual cable connections to the bus.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
