The QGL22070 is a unit-mount PowerPacT Q-frame breaker designed for use in Square D individual enclosures, panelboards, and switchboards. It is not compatible with standard QO or Homeline load centers.
What is the recommended lug torque for the QGL22070?
The tightening torque for the factory-installed lugs on the QGL22070 is 248 lb-in (28 N.m). The lugs accept 4 AWG to 300 kcmil aluminum or copper wire.
Can the Square D QGL22070 be reverse fed?
Yes, this thermal-magnetic PowerPacT Q-frame breaker can be forward or reverse fed. It does not contain an electronic trip unit with directional power flow restrictions.
What is the difference between the QGL22070 and the QDL22070 or QJL22070?
The difference is the short-circuit interrupting rating. The QGL22070 is rated for 65kA at 240VAC, while the QDL22070 is rated for 25kA, and the QJL22070 is rated for 100kA. They share the same physical dimensions and mounting style.
Is the QGL22070 rated for use in DC electrical systems?
No, the QGL22070 is strictly rated for AC voltage (up to 240VAC). It does not carry a DC voltage rating.
Does the QGL22070 provide ground fault or equipment protection?
No, this is a standard thermal-magnetic circuit breaker providing overload and short-circuit protection. It does not include GFCI, AFCI, or EPD functionality.
Is the QGL22070 rated for 100 percent continuous operation?
Standard PowerPacT Q-frame breakers like the QGL22070 are rated for 80 percent continuous current. The continuous load should not exceed 56 amps, which is 80 percent of its 70A rating.
Can the trip settings on the QGL22070 be adjusted?
No, the QGL22070 features a fixed thermal and fixed magnetic trip unit. The trip settings cannot be adjusted in the field.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping
