This bolt-on breaker is designed for Eaton, Cutler-Hammer, and legacy Westinghouse commercial panelboards. It is specifically engineered to mount in Pow-R-Line series panels, including the PRL1a, PRL2a, PRL1X, and PRL2X models.
Can the BAB3100H be installed in standard residential load centers?
No. As a bolt-on industrial breaker, it physically screws into threaded panel busbars and will not fit in standard residential plug-on load centers, such as the Eaton BR or CH series.
What is the difference between Eaton BAB and QBHW circuit breakers?
Both series share the exact same physical dimensions and bolt-on mounting design for Pow-R-Line panels. The distinction is their short-circuit interrupting rating: the BAB series is rated for 10 kAIC at 240V, while the QBHW series is rated for 22 kAIC at 240V.
Is this breaker rated for air conditioning and refrigeration loads?
Yes, the BAB3100H carries an HACR (Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration) rating. It is fully approved to handle the inrush currents and motor-starting surges associated with HVAC equipment.
Are Cutler-Hammer BAB3100H and Eaton BAB3100H identical?
Yes. Following Eaton's acquisition of Cutler-Hammer, the BAB product line remained physically and electrically identical. Breakers stamped with either brand name are exact replacements for one another.
Does the BAB3100H provide ground fault or arc fault protection?
No. This unit is a standard thermal-magnetic breaker that provides essential protection against overloads and short circuits. It does not contain GFCI or AFCI circuitry. Ground fault protection in this bolt-on form factor requires the QBGF or QBHGF series breakers.

Expedited Shipments
