The CH230 is designed exclusively for use in Eaton and Cutler-Hammer Type CH load centers. It will not fit in Type BR or other manufacturer panels.
How much panel space does the CH230 require?
As a 2-pole Type CH breaker, it requires two 3/4-inch spaces, taking up a total of 1.5 inches on the bus bar.
Is the Eaton CH230 HACR rated?
Yes, this breaker is HACR rated, making it suitable for use with dedicated heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment that requires this rating.
Can the CH230 be used as a back-fed main breaker?
Yes, but when used in a back-feed application, the National Electrical Code requires it to be secured to the load center using an approved hold-down retainer kit, such as the Eaton CH125RB.
Is there a difference between the Cutler-Hammer CH230 and the Eaton CH230?
No. Eaton acquired Cutler-Hammer and continues to manufacture the Type CH line under the Eaton brand. The CH230 is the exact same breaker regardless of which brand name is printed on the label.
What size wire can be used with the CH230 breaker?
The box lugs on the CH230 accept 14 AWG to 6 AWG copper or aluminum wiring. Always verify the specific torque requirements printed on the side of the breaker before terminating the conductors.

Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping

When our main breaker frizzed out, the option we were presented with was replacing the entire panel and service due to the type and part - no longer produced for replacement parts. It would be a $6500 replacement.
We'll likely have to do it at some point but, for now, the replacement breaker we were able to source from Superbreakers (with a $25 warranty) was $5900 less expensive. installation ran a few hundred dollars and the tech said the part looked to be in excellent condition and was prepped for install as he would have hoped.
