What is the difference between Eaton CH and CHB circuit breakers?

Is the CHB230 breaker HACR rated?

How do you reset a tripped CHB230 breaker?
When a fault occurs, the handle on a Type CHB breaker trips to a middle position between ON and OFF. To restore power, you must manually push the handle to the full OFF position to reset the internal mechanism before switching it back to ON.
Can I interchange a CHB230 with a BAB2030 circuit breaker?
No. While both are 30-amp, 2-pole bolt-on breakers, they have different physical dimensions and fit different chassis. The CHB230 is 3/4-inch wide per pole, while BAB breakers are 1-inch wide per pole. They are not interchangeable.
Are Cutler-Hammer and Eaton CHB breakers the same?
Yes. Eaton acquired the Cutler-Hammer brand and continues to manufacture the CHB series. A modern Eaton CHB230 is a direct, UL listed replacement for older Cutler-Hammer branded breakers with the exact same catalog number.

Expedited Shipments
