The ED3150 mounts into Eaton and Cutler-Hammer Series C panelboards, switchboards, and motor control centers (MCCs) designed to accept F-Frame bolt-on circuit breakers.
Can the ED3150 breaker be reverse fed?
Yes. Eaton Series C F-Frame circuit breakers, including the ED3150, are approved for reverse feed applications.
What wire sizes do the lugs on this 150A breaker accept?
The standard mechanical lugs provided with the ED3150 accommodate both copper and aluminum conductors ranging from 4 AWG up to 4/0 AWG.
Can the ED3150 be used in direct current (DC) systems?
Yes. In addition to its 240V AC maximum rating, the ED3150 is certified for 125V DC applications, providing a 10 kAIC interrupting capacity for DC circuits.
Is the FD3150 a suitable replacement for the ED3150?
Yes. The FD3150 and HFD3150 share the exact same physical F-Frame dimensions and mounting configuration as the ED3150. Because the FD and HFD models are rated for up to 600V AC, they can safely substitute for the 240V-rated ED3150 in any standard application.
Is the Eaton ED3150 HACR rated?
Yes. The ED3150 carries an HACR rating, making it fully certified to protect heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment circuits.
What does the 65kAIC rating mean for the ED3150?
The 65 kAIC (kilo-ampere interrupting capacity) rating means the breaker can safely clear up to 65,000 amps of fault current during a dead short at 240V AC. This high rating safely contains arc energy and prevents catastrophic equipment failure.
Is this breaker compatible with older Westinghouse systems?
Yes. Eaton acquired the Westinghouse distribution equipment line. The Series C ED3150 is a direct, drop-in replacement for older Cutler-Hammer and Westinghouse F-Frame breakers bearing the exact same ED3150 catalog number.
Are the thermal and magnetic trip settings adjustable on the ED3150?
No. The ED3150 features a non-adjustable, fixed thermal and fixed magnetic trip unit. If your application requires adjustable trip settings in an F-Frame footprint, you must select an Eaton Series C breaker equipped with an electronic trip unit.

Expedited Shipments
