This F-frame breaker is designed specifically for Eaton Series C panelboards, switchboards, and motor control centers. It is a commercial and industrial bolt-on breaker and will not fit in standard residential load centers like the Eaton BR or CH series.
Can the FD3090 be reverse fed?
Yes. Eaton Series C F-frame thermal-magnetic circuit breakers are suitable for reverse feed applications. They do not have line and load side restrictions, allowing for flexible installation in control panels and switchboards.
What is the difference between the FD3090, HFD3090, and FDC3090?
These breakers share the same physical F-frame dimensions and mounting footprint but differ in their interrupting capacity. The FD3090 is rated at 35kAIC at 480VAC, the HFD3090 is rated at 65kAIC at 480VAC, and the FDC3090 is rated at 100kAIC at 480VAC.
Is the FD3090 rated for 100 percent continuous operation?
No. Like most standard molded case circuit breakers, the FD3090 is rated for 80 percent continuous duty. For continuous loads lasting three hours or more, the load should not exceed 72 amps, which is 80 percent of its 90A rating.
Is the FD3090 HACR rated?
Yes. Eaton Series C F-frame circuit breakers are HACR rated, making them suitable for protecting heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment circuits that require this specific safety designation.
Can I use the FD3090 to replace an older Westinghouse or Cutler-Hammer FD breaker?
Yes. Eaton acquired the Westinghouse distribution equipment line and later transitioned the Cutler-Hammer name to Eaton. A modern Eaton FD3090 is a direct replacement for older Westinghouse or Cutler-Hammer FD3090 breakers, as they share the same Series C F-frame design.

Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping

Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.

The breaker we purchased was as advertised. The breaker fit perfectly. We purchased reconditioned breaker and it seems to be working properly, accordingly to the golf course maintenance team that supervises the irrigation system.
Next day shipping came quickly even though the 4th of July was coming.
I wish it came with new installations hardware but that isn’t a deal breaker.
