The L signifies that the breaker is supplied with factory-installed line and load side lugs. The base FDB3100 catalog number refers to the breaker body without lugs included.
Can I use an FD3100 or HFD3100 to replace an FDB3100L?
Yes. The FD3100 and HFD3100 share the same physical F-frame dimensions and mounting footprint. They can be used as drop-in replacements, offering higher interrupting capacities (35kAIC and 65kAIC at 480VAC, respectively) than the standard 14kAIC of the FDB series.
Is the FDB3100L compatible with standard residential load centers?
No. The FDB3100L is an industrial Series C F-frame molded case circuit breaker. It is designed for bolt-on installation in Eaton panelboards, switchboards, and motor control centers, and will not fit in residential BR or CH style load centers.
Can the FDB3100L circuit breaker be reverse fed?
Yes. Eaton Series C F-frame thermal-magnetic circuit breakers do not have line and load restrictions and are suitable for reverse feed applications.
Are the trip settings on the FDB3100L adjustable?
No. This breaker is equipped with a non-interchangeable trip unit featuring fixed thermal (overload) and fixed magnetic (short-circuit) settings. It cannot be adjusted in the field.
Does the FDB3100L provide ground fault or arc fault protection?
No. This is a standard thermal-magnetic breaker with long-time and instantaneous (LI) trip functions only. It does not contain GFCI or AFCI protection circuitry.

Free Shipping Policy
Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping
We strive to ship out your items the same day the order is placed. In rare circumstances SuperBreakers may reserve up to 5 business days to consolidate orders for complete shipment.
Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
International Shipping
