This Quicklag breaker is designed for use in Eaton Quicklag panelboards and industrial control panels. It utilizes a cable-in, cable-out mounting configuration.
Can the QC3040H be mounted on a DIN rail?
Yes. While it is natively a cable-in, cable-out panel-mount breaker, it can be installed on a standard 35mm DIN rail when paired with the appropriate Eaton DIN rail adapter bracket.
What are the wire size limits for the line and load terminals?
The box lug terminals have different capacities. The line side accepts 14 to 10 AWG aluminum or copper wire, while the load side accepts a wider range of 14 to 4 AWG aluminum or copper wire.
Is this breaker HACR rated for HVAC equipment?
Yes, Eaton Quicklag QC miniature circuit breakers from 10A to 100A are HACR rated, making this 40A model suitable for heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration applications.
Can the QC3040H be used in DC control circuits?
Yes, in addition to its standard AC ratings, this breaker is rated for up to 3.8kA interrupting capacity at 62.5 VDC, allowing it to be used in specific low-voltage DC applications.
Are the trip settings adjustable on the QC3040H?
No, this breaker features fixed thermal and fixed magnetic trip settings. It does not support field adjustments for the trip curve.
Is this a direct replacement for older Westinghouse or Cutler-Hammer QC breakers?
Yes. Eaton acquired the Cutler-Hammer and Westinghouse product lines. This modern Eaton Quicklag breaker is the exact, authentic replacement for legacy Cutler-Hammer and Westinghouse QC3040H models.
Does this breaker include ground fault or arc fault protection?
No. The QC3040H is a standard thermal-magnetic breaker providing long-time and instantaneous (LI) overcurrent and short-circuit protection. It does not feature GFCI or AFCI capabilities.

Parcel shipments with item value over $99 qualify for free economy shipping within the continental US. Please call to confirm special handling instructions. We do not charge a handling fee or require a minimum amount on any order. SuperBreakers does not ship on customer accounts.
Same Day Shipping

Expedited Shipments
Orders being shipped via Next Day Air, 2 Day Shipping or 3 Day Shipping must be received by 3 PM EST to guarantee same-day shipments. Expedited orders only ship on normal business days. Shipments will NOT be sent out on Saturdays and Sundays.
