The BQC2152120 is a CTL (Circuit Total Limitation) breaker. It features a rejection tab on the bus connection side and is designed exclusively for use in Eaton Type BR load centers with notched bus stabs. It is not compatible with older non-CTL panels.
How are the circuits configured on the BQC2152120 quad breaker?
This quadplex breaker provides two single-pole 20A circuits on the outer positions and one two-pole 15A circuit on the inner positions. The inner 15A circuit has a common trip function, while the outer 20A circuits operate independently.
Can I install this quad breaker in any Eaton BR load center?
No. Because it is a CTL breaker with a rejection tab, it can only be installed in specific slots of a CTL-rated Eaton BR load center. The panel must have notched bus stabs designed to accept tandem or quad breakers.
What is the difference between Eaton BQ and BQC quad breakers?
BQ quad breakers feature independent trip functions for all poles, meaning each circuit trips independently. BQC breakers, like the BQC2152120, feature a common trip mechanism for the two-pole section, ensuring both legs trip simultaneously if a fault occurs on either side.
How much panel space does the BQC2152120 require?
This quadplex breaker requires two standard 1-inch spaces in your load center to provide a total of four circuits. This makes it an excellent space-saving solution for expanding capacity in full panels.
Does this breaker provide Arc Fault or Ground Fault protection?
No. The BQC2152120 is a standard thermal-magnetic circuit breaker. It provides overload and short-circuit protection but does not include AFCI or GFCI circuitry.
