No. The FD1020 is a bolt-on molded case circuit breaker designed for Eaton Series C panelboards, switchboards, and motor control centers. It is not compatible with standard residential plug-on load centers like the BR or CH series.
What is the difference between the FD1020 and other F-frame breakers like the FDB1020 or HFD1020?
The primary difference is the interrupting capacity. The FD1020 is rated for 35kAIC at 277VAC. The FDB version has a lower rating of 14kAIC, while the HFD version offers a higher rating of 65kAIC. All three share the same physical dimensions and mountings.
Does the FD1020 come with both line and load lugs?
No. Because it is a bolt-on breaker designed for panelboards and switchboards, the FD1020 is typically supplied with load-side lugs only. The line side bolts directly to the internal bus of the enclosure.
Can the FD1020 be reverse fed?
Yes. Eaton F-frame circuit breakers, including the FD1020, are suitable for reverse feed applications because they feature fixed thermal-magnetic trip units without line or load directional restrictions.

How do I test the mechanical operation of the FD1020 breaker?
You can manually exercise the operating mechanism by pressing the PUSH-TO-TRIP button located on the front of the breaker. This safely checks the tripping function and should be done periodically during routine maintenance.

Expedited Shipments

The breaker we purchased was as advertised. The breaker fit perfectly. We purchased reconditioned breaker and it seems to be working properly, accordingly to the golf course maintenance team that supervises the irrigation system.
Next day shipping came quickly even though the 4th of July was coming.
I wish it came with new installations hardware but that isn’t a deal breaker.
