This F-frame breaker is designed specifically for Eaton Series C panelboards and switchboards. It is a commercial bolt-on breaker and will not fit into standard residential BR or CH load centers.
What is the difference between Eaton FD and HFD Series C breakers?
The 'H' in HFD designates a high interrupting capacity. While standard FD breakers have lower short-circuit ratings, the HFD1020 provides up to 65kAIC at 277VAC and 100kAIC at 240VAC for systems with higher available fault currents.
What wire sizes are accepted by the standard lugs on the HFD1020?
The standard factory lugs on this breaker accept 14 AWG through 1/0 AWG copper or aluminum conductors.

For legacy upgrades, the HFD1020 can be replaced by the Eaton Power Defense PDG21M0020TFFJ. Note that upgrading to the newer Power Defense platform requires a specific retrofit kit and updated mounting hardware.
Can the HFD1020 be used in DC power systems?

Expedited Shipments
